Araz (formerly, Pilot Knob) is a former settlement in Imperial County, California.[1] It was located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 8.5 miles (14 km) west-southwest of Bard.[1] Pilot Knob Station served as a stop on the Butterfield Overland Stage line and its successors until the railroad arrived in 1877.[1] The station was located neer the bank of the Colorado River at the foot of Pilot Knob, for which it was named.
